The hard vvork, pain, and cour- age shown in these pictures paid off in more ways than one. Several members of the team received track scholarships, and each individual gained a sense of pride and satis- faction from saying that he was on the 1970 Yellovv Jacket Track Team. lt was a good year, and future teams will have their work cut out to live up to the reputation these men gained. Quarterback Steve Whitfield led this year's Jackets to their best season since 1958. This team showed some of the best spirit seen in recent years, and with such standouts as Reno Allen, Buck Thompson, and Ed Rice, outscored their opponents 293-57. As Re- gion 2-AAAA Champions, the Jackets were rewarded for their long hours of hard practice. The team completely upheld Anderson's record of athletic excellence and was undoubtedly one ofthe best in the history ofthe school.
