There were all 'mP0f'f3n'f for SCWO' SDWIT types of Clubs and groups an did their part to find for students to join the missing pieces of the depending on their different PUZ-Zie and Put them back interests. tvgether again Along with sports, organizations were very important to those students who wanted to participate in school activities. For those interested in music there was band, orchestra and choirg for those interested in office management there was FBLA and VOCCTQ Anyone who was interested in a future in the army could join ROTCg and for those students who just wanted to show their spirit and have fun there was Esprit de Corps. All the clubs and organizations welcomed anyone who wanted to join. Although some had requirements for members to fulfill, there was something for everyone. Teachers who gave up their time to sponsor a group of students and organize them into a club were indispensable to the school since without them many school activities would not be possible.

Band raises students' morale Again this year the Silver Knight band received superior ratings at district competition, making this the third year in a row the band has been considered superior. This was accomplished through hard work and a lot of dedication. The band was outside every morning, at 6:30 sharp, practicing their playing and perfecting their formations. The final product was impressive enough to dazzle the judges. The band played a very important part in school spirit. They played at virtually every game and were present at every pep rally. The band missed the Homecoming dance to participate in regional competition in Lubbock. According to Mr. Calderon this was one of the most talented group of musicians Hanks has ever had. There were 228 people in the band. I had a terrific time with the band, and with enough practice l know we can become the best band in Texas, said Scott Whithers. Band 61
