Students In this program went to school halfa day then worked the other half These students gained valu able experience In finding jobs, managing money and work schedules Mr Tony Ramirez ex planned The co op pro gram teaches students re ponslbllty and gives them job experience needed in the real world. Another important area was the business depart- ment. Here students Iearned many skills. Courses offered were: typing, data processing, ac- counting, record keeping, business law and personal finance. Jennifer Johnson practices secretarial skills. Q? ity 7' Homemaking's or Home Eco- nomics' are both the same thing, its main purpose is to provide students with skills that will prepare them for the role of wage earner and home- maker, explained Debra Harris, de- partment head. Homemaking has been offered here since the school first opened. It offers courses like Homemaking 1, child development, consumer edu- cation, and home management. These courses were not only limit- ed to girls because many guys par- ticipated in these classes and bene- fitted a great deal from them.
