Golfers Par o uccess This year's golf teams, both boys and girls, had strong cap- tains to lead them to success. The boys captains were John Sosa, Javier Delgadillo and Brad Borden, the girls were led by Nathalie Naylor and Mary Jo Eh- renreich. Both teams did equally well in this season and neither one was affected harshly by the no pass-no play law. Each team member concentrated on their studies, playing skills and team spirit. Coach Henry Felix said that the most improved golfers this year were Scott Lovelady, Aaron Gemaets and Diane Smith. Practices were held on the Vis- ta Hills Golf Course every day to get as much experience possi- ble. Gemaets said, We practiced all the time, and it really helped us. Last years district and region- al champ, Sosa, was on the team again this year, and was ranked among the top 12 high school golfers in the state. Being able to play varsity when I was a freshman last year, Sosa said, was one of the highlights in my life. I know this year will be even better. Golfers were able to practice more this year than ever before, because EI Paso had a mild win- ter. This allowed the team plenty of time to play on the course due to dry conditions. 236 Golf Wg! JN?
