In September l9UM, twenty-one anxious and eager boys and sirls are ted.our first grade teacher, Miss Eunice Karlstrom and began our education. The mem- bers of our class were Dennis Arndt, Dixie Backer, Charles Bladow, Dean Bladow, Eugene Bladow, Orville Buckhouse, Rovene Clark, Curtis Phel, Donald Ebel, Daniel Franz, Rodney Gieser, Arthur Johnson, Patric McIlwain, Rudolph Marohl, Gayle Medenwald, Joanne Medcnwald, Alfred Miller, Evonne Scheller, David Bick- erton, Helen Joy Wipperman, and Joann Witt. when we eraduated from the eighth grade only eleven of us remained. The next fall our class was reinforced with twenty-five new members bring- ing our roll to thirty-six very nervous freshmen. After initiation things seem ed to go better and we even gave a few class parties. Our class officers were Patric McIlwain, Presidentg Darlene Popp, Vice President, Inez Brunkhorst, Sec- retary, and Rudolph Marohl, Treasurer. Our carnival king and queen candidates never came in first but we worked very hard to get where we did. Our freshmen and sophomore candidates Darlene Popp, Helen Joy Wipperman and Harold Bohn came in second, while our king and queen candidates in our junior year, Rudy Marohl and Pvonne Scheller came in third. Renae Reinke and Alfred Miller were a close second for our senior year. Our homecoming queens for our junior and senior years, Inez Brunkhorst and Loretta Aadland, each reigned over the grid. In our sophomore year we lost six of our classmates but gained June Berq- quist. The class officers were JoAnn Witt, Presidente Rudolph Marohl, Vice President, Helen Joy Wipperman, Secretary, and Darlene Popp, Treasurer. Arthur Johnson was our Student Council Representative. The prom was the high-light of our junior year. The theme, HMelody of Love,H was carried out at the banquet served at the Lutheran Church, and also at the school dance which followed. We thought it was one of the best proms ever given at H. H. S. In the beginning of this year we presented NKeep it Under Your Hatn as our class play. We also gave UUmGPOUS narties to PaY for our prom. We gained Allen Motis and lost three of our fellow students. Our class officers were Helen Joy Wipperman, President: Inez Prunkhorst, Vice Pres- identg,Janice Puck, Secretary, Patric McIlwain, Treasurer, and Darlene Popp, Student'Council Representative. In the fall of 1955 twenty-seven of the original class of thirty-six fresh men registered as seniors. Those in our class who attended the Hankinson Public Schools for twelve consecutive years were Evonne Scheller, Charles Bladow, Curtis Ebel, Arthur Johnson, Patric Mcllwain, and Alfred Miller. As seniors we enjoyed showing off our rings, taking and exchanging pictures, pre- paring for ihe annual, attending prom and graduation exercises. The class officers for our final year are Evonne Scheller, President: Alfred Miller, Vice President: Darlene Popp, Secretary, Charles Pladow, Treasurer: and Clark Stack, Student Council Representative.
