Initially, not many people took Barb Knecht and Debbie Larson very serious- ly, but after the first couple of practices, people realized that the additions were doing more than just making the team look nice. With only one returning hoofer tTerry Carneyi from last year, Coach Shen really had his work cut out for him. After many long, hard, and sweaty practices, he shaped his team into a competitive contender, sending two of his squad of eight to state: Terry Carney, 110:36-time! who came in third, and Debbie Larson, who came in fifth in the girI's meet. The backbone of our team was the junior class. Spanner was picked as captain and Garcia was most inspirational. Every young man that finished the year was vital to our program. We are building our pro- gram and are very proud of the men who have enough ability and pride to participate in this most demanding sport. The men who wrestle put in more time and effort than any participatnt of any other sport. We admire them all, even those who tried but could not finish the season because of injury. The boys' team were league champions in 19757 and after losing 6 players from last years squad, we came in second place this year with a 6 win 2 loss record. The girls' team developed into the most com petitive team in our school's history. They had a league record of 7-1 for a co-cham- pioriship. There were some firsts for the school.
