To start off the two groups sang in the Fall Music Concert. Then, to show their Christmas spirit, they gave the grade school kids a concert and caroled through the halls. They also performed in the annual All City Christmas Concert. In January our Swing Choir got their just reward by earning 1st place in the AA division at the University of Idaho Jazz Festi- val in Moscow. In March the Advanced Choir walked off the Large Group Competition in Sunnyside with a superior rating. In May, our Swing Choir participated in the Mt. Hood Community College Jazz Festival in Gresham, Oregon, finding their year filled with rewarding and educational experiences. The Variety Show kicked off the festivities on Tuesday night with an excellent display of Hanford's talent. Wednesday night included recreation in the gymnasium with such games as volleyball, basketball, ping pong, and various other activities. Scheduled for Thursday night was the Spaghetti Feed which was a well attended success. A strong-willed Falcon football team added to the suc- cessful activities week as they pulled through with a 6-0 victory over the Wapato Wolves. At half-time of this game, royalty were crowned with four princesses and Queen Bev Gustafson chosen to reign over the formal dance the following night. Knights of Columbus Hall came alive Saturday night as Hanford celebrated the first ever Homecoming dance of 1974. Pink and burgundy decorations were dominant at the dance along with the theme Beginnings. I- 5 iii lg? it was w kr if W F Artie, Queen-Linda, Bev, Kim, Barb, Carol, and Grace Advisor-IVrs.
