FOREWORD Before planting his crop, a good farmer makes sure his fields are in prime condition: just so has Handley prepared us to enter new fields. When harvest time comes, the farmer recalls the sun and the rain which have nurtured his plants. Today as we draw near our graduation, we, too, look back, recalling the many fac- tors which have played a part in our school life. We have tried to recapture these scenes in words and pic- tures so that in years to come this I-Iandlian will serve as a reminder of our years at Handley. In honor of Mr. Fry and because of his interest. and the interest he has instilled in his many students in Agriculture, we have chosen this as the theme for our book. DEDICATION Because you have believed in us and our abilities: because you have willingly given of your time and your energy whenever we needed your help: because you have helped us make our dreams the realities we only dared hope they would be: because to us you stand for the ideals of school citizenship and tolerant understanding which we feel typifies all that is finest at Handley: we dedicate our 1950 Handlian to you, Mr. Fry. Please accept this as an expression of the affec- tion and appreciation of each member of the class of 1950. We in turn shall carry with us the memory of your ready smile and unfailing friendship.
