B. BELLE BOLTON. PAT WATKINS. JOAN RETTIG. SANDRA MOSIER. BARBARA DYE. JUDY BISHOP Cheerleaders The cheerleaders of the 1954 season were chosen by ballot November 27 from a field of 23 aspirants, and the following girls were elected to represent llancock at all the Basket- ball games: Joan Bettig, B. Belle Bolton, Barbara Dye, Judy llishop, Sandra Mosier and Pat Watkins. So that you may know each one better we interviewed them and found out their hobbies, why they like to cheer, and many other interesting facts. Joan liettig, who is the cheerleader captain, is a cheerleader for the first time. ller main reason for serving is due to the influence of a certain basketball player. She was nominated by the Senior Class as Candidate for Basketball Queen. B. Belle llolton is an excellent cheerleader and is also a very versatile athlete, win- ning letters in basketball, volleyball and softball for the past 3 years. B. Belle wanted to be a cheerleader because she has so much Free Time. When we asked Barbara Dye about her hobbies she said havinga good time, doing the camel walk and cheering. Barbara, a sophomore, no doubt will be around to give us many more cheers next year. Sandra Mosier said, Basketball ismy favorite sport and l've always had so much fun at games that I wanted to try out for cheerleading. Sandy is a Senior, and her favorite hobbies include horseback riding, swintning, and ice skating'?'? CShe's Learning.l 'lhis is Judy Bishop's first year as acheerleader and she's really having a lot of fun. ller favorite past time is going to dances, swimning, and talking. Judy, a Sophomore, is an- other one who will be here next year to help with the cheerleading. Pat Watkins is an old timer on the squad as this is her second year. Cheerleading comes natural to Pat because she is so interested in dancing, especially Jitterbugging or making up steps. Any hot sunrner day you will find Pat and all the other girls swimning or cooling off at Rockford Beach or Spring Forest. 814
