IE was born at Steelville, Missouri, and received his Doctor 'of Education degree from Washingtonllniversity. . He began his teaching career at Bakersville High School, Bakersyille, Missouri, where he' taught social studies. Mter he came to Hancock he taught for several years before he became principal and later the Superintendent of Schools. He has also taught in the De- partment of Fducation at 'lhiversity 'for several sunmers. I i M ' Chr Coumander4in-Uiiefhas-several hobbies but he especially enjoys fishing and crafts. He is truly a friend andicounselor to the students. ' A A ' ' mr PRINCIPAL Mr. langehennig, the Commander of our space ship, has been with the Hancock Schools for eighteen years. taught first at Hancock Junior 'High for eight years before accepting the position of coach for Senior High, where 'he served for'five'years before accepting 'the position of principal. i A ' ' 'i ii He graduated from Mzliinley grade school and got his high school diploma from Cleveland High. He went to Harris Teachers College for one year, then entered Westminster College and stayed there for two years before returning to St. louis and entering Washington Uni- versity where he received a ELS. and M.A.-, degree in Education. Oxr Conmander likes all sports very much, but favors basketball and track. He is a friendly and capable leader who is well liked by all students. THE FACULTY The Captains of our space ship are the teacher. 'lhey are a group of outstanding men and women in their field. knong the faculty, there is one lbctor of Education, ten teachers hold master degrees, and ten have bachelor degrees from accredited universities. In addi- tion several of the members are working for advanced degrees. With their education and years of experience, they have taught the students and helped to prepare them for the future. Aside from their teaching, they have been commselors and friends to the students. The faculty will not only be remembered by the students for the lessons they have taught, but for the fine ideals they represent. l 'A ' N

Mr. Lindhurst has given 21 years of service to the School District of ilancock. Fe began his career as a social studies teacher, then was principal of the high school for nine years before he began his present duties as superintendent of schools. 'Mr. Lindhurst isa graduate of Washington University with a degree of Doctor of Education and has taught in the Department of Education at Washington University for several suntners. Mr. Lindhurstfs advice to the students is that they make every effort to achieve to the best of their ability in their school workartl never be late. The continuation of our democratic way of life to a great extent is dependent upon the high school students who soon will become the active citizens of our nation.
