HooPER MUSIC DEPARTMENT The Music Department, under the supervision of Mr. Jack Hemn, is separated into three divisions: the Chorus, Girls Glee Club, and Band. The Chorus has many outside activities, aside from regular class periods. Hiring the Christmas Season, the Chorus gave a program at Bayless High School, and then at our ovm school. Aside from this they put on several other programs such as the one given at the Patrons Alliance Meeting, and their appearance at the Vocal Festival at University City, where their performance was judged by two qualified critics. The Girls' Glee Club and Band have participated in several activities, including the Christmas Program. Also the Band and Glee Club have appeared before the critics in the Mxsic Festival. 'lhe Band has done a wonderful job in playing for all our home basketball games. Perhaps the most cherished part of the music department this year are the new robes and uniforms. 'lhe music department had been working several years trying to raise money for their purchase, but finally this year with the help of the Seni.or Class and Key Club they were bought. The Music Department is growing very rapidly and it is Mr. IIemm's hope that the students will continue to show interest in his department. 77
