Jeff is an architect by trade, but is out of work at the present time, so Ima has to take care of his sister,Carol, who is at the age of becoming a young lady, but hesn't quite made it. Wes, his brother, was just a regular boy, and then came his kid sister, Hyacinth, the tomboy of the block. .Atthe time of the first act, Jeff is worrying how he is going to support his flockg then lenore who has just inherited a large sum of money wants to marry Jeff. The same day Peggy a hosiery saleslady,cones to his door and Jeff, thinking she is the neu house keepsr,hires her before she can tell him the truth.
