HISTORY of the SENIOR CLASS of 1957 In the fall of the year, 19117-L, another group of first graders set out on a. journey that has taken twelve years to complete. Although there have been times when the going got rough and the teachers seemed unfair, no doubt we will all agree that the best years of our youth are behind us. Not all of the present members of the graduating class are original members, but there are twelve who started the first grade here in Hancock. They are now completing their senior year along with twelve others who have joined them along the way. 'l'he originals are: Ardith Ras, Joanne Burns, Carol DeG:Ler, Dean Jaeger, Dennis Jaeger, Keith McArthur, Lucille Nohl, Donald Joos, Ralph Nissen, Keith Goulet, Gordon Greiner, and Arthur Nohl. In our freshman year we were initiated. It was a very exciting experience, and we do not think any one of us will ever forget what fun we had being at the mercy of the seniors for a day. Our sophomore year was not too eventful, but much time was spent getting our Homecoming float ready. We also were in charge of the program and party on award night. This party served as a farewell for the senior class of that year. We entered our junior year with much enthusiasm, as there was so much to look forward to. First of all was Homecoming, and soon after that came a day that was very important to us - the day we selected our class rings. That fall we also presented our class play, 'Mother Is a Freshmann. It was all sorts of fun and an experience we will always remember. After the start of the second smester, we began planning and working on our Junior-Senior Banquet which was held in the school gymnasium. It took place on May 26, and the theme was Under the Sea . Working together on the banquet at the end of our junior year was fun we'll never forget. All too soon our senior year rolled around, and we were about to leave these all-too-familiar halls. In November we took a trip to Moorhead to have our senior pictures taken. This was one of the many high lights of our senior year. Our class play, 'George Washington Slept Here , was given on February 22 to a capacity crowd. On skip day, which was in April, we went to Minneapolis for a day of fun. And finally now, after enjoying the JuniornSenior Banquet of 1957 to the utmost, comes that eventful day called graduation. I am sure all of us are going to be happy to get that sheepskin in our' hands and have our high school days behind us, but on the other hand we are a little sad and a bit frightened perhaps at the thought of stepping over the threshold into a mw and strange life. Our high school days are days we'll never forget. OP25inefS f 7 47 u Lmrrnfv-mv .4J,a.,w-AJ '04-og fifwl, 0 . WW A9 M Ofn'-1 WU Q aww its 'fm Inglis -ww 5 ' ' HJ mis., 19
