HANCOCK PUBLIC SCHOOLS The school system of Hancock includes two building which are located in the east part of town. The smaller building, which was constructed in l9l contains the classrooms for grades one through six. In addition the grade building also houses the newly-organ ized commercial department which offers courses in typewriting and shorthand. In 1921 the high school building was built. This provides classrooms for both junior and senior high grades. The industrial arts and home economics depart- ments are in this building also. The gymnasium-audi- torium and the study hall provide adequate space for activities and programs. The high school building contains a well-equipped library for both buildings. The grounds of the school include tennis courts, a practice ball diamond, a skating rink, flower garden, and adequate play space for grade and high school pupils. BOARD OF EDUCATION The Board of Education is that group of citizens that make it possible to carry on the activities of the school such as are portrayed in this yearbook. Therefore, much credit should be given this group of men for the success of the school and its program in general as well as specific instances. The Hancock board has provided two buildings furnished to meet the needs of modern educational requirements, and the students of the school appreciate and thank them for extcndiag this splendid opportunity to the youth of the community. 4 Sr 2
