The Boarding House Reach lfor many years, thirteen-year-old Wilbtii' Maxwell wanted a bicycle. But he couldn,t persuade his parents to get him one. So, when Mr. Maxwell was called away on a week-long business trip, Mrs. Maxwell was persuaded to go with him for a second honeymoon, and the house was left in charge ofsisters Connie and Betty Lou, Willutii' got his idea. I-le decided to turn his home into a boarding house. I-Ie'd make more than enough for a bicycle in one week. XXfilbur placed an ad in the DAILY BLAST. That night eve1'y room in the house was full when Mr. and Mrs. Max- well came dragging home at two o'clock in the morning - he had forgotten his briefcase. From there on in, it was one mess after another. lt was suspected that somebody in the house was a bank robber, and poor Mr, Maxwell was mistakenly arrested. XXfilbur devised a trap for the real robber, and Limpy and Nora fell for it. But they had a gun and were preparing to rub him out when Detective Connolly arrived to save the day. Wilbur found himself a hero for discovering the criminals and his father gladly gets him his bike. :-- Q? C?
