C. H. resouncled with the noise of a plane taking off and with eerie strains of music. This provided the setting for Lost Flight, the drama presented by the Iuniors, Class of '63, on April 4. The ill-fated flight 734 became the victim of a young girl bent on self-destruction. Miss Laura Troy carried on hoard with her a bomb which was to terminate the lives of the crew and passen- gers of the plane. At precisely eleven o'clock a mysterious stran- ger appeared on the plane. He, Mr. Cross, was to convince those on board the flight that death was inevitable and should be willingly accepted. Each individual possessed different problems and emotions, but Mr. Cross fulfilled his duties. He proved a successful pilot and under guiding hand the flight progressed to its unknown destination. They tore their next five conference foes apart, scoring an average of twenty-nine points a game. Their eighth and final game was played at Condon Field for the Copper Bowl, the Conference Championship, and an undefeated season. The game was hard fought with I-I.C. H. scoring first and Hough- ton coming on strong in the second half, but the Bull- dogs rallied to turn down the Gremlin drive, win the game, and capture the honors. Praise and congratulations are extended to Head Coach Robert Salani and his staff for the fine season they turned in, and to the entire team for the magni- ficient effort needed to win this undefeated season. They started the season oll strong with four straight wins, hut a loss to Houghton and an upset win over Ontonagon gave them a 6-1 record at the beginning ol: the New Year. The second half of the season proved less fortunate, with the llulldogs losing six out ol the last nine games in regular play. All through the year the team played good, heads-up hasliethall, and it can he said that they never gave up. This year there are three graduating seniors Cpieturecl on page 7lll: Roger Laitinen, Charles Klingheil, and lim Chagnon. Cap- tain Charles Klingheil led the team in all individual categories, amassing a total of 202 points in fourteen games. The return ol seven letter winners next year promises us that Mr. Mannisto has a good team in the making.
