The Bulldogs, however, played much better ball than the record indicates. The traditional series with Houghton, Copper Country rivals, resulted in one victory for each team. The Bulldogs lost their home game by a oO-40 fcore. In the second game, the Houghton Quintet succumbed to a sharpshooting Hancock live. The final score read 54-45. This game, which was attended by a capacity crowd, was played at Sherman Gymnasium John Killmar led the Bulldogs in the scoring column with a total of 327 points. The tall pivot man had his big nights against Dollar Bay and Calumet when he hit 27 and 23 points respectively. Killmar was also elected Most Valuable Player by his teammates and Danny Romberg was elected honorary captain. Senior members of the team include Killmar, Rombeig, Stern, Kemppa, Horner and lasberg.
