DEDICATION: EDMOND MACK The 1980 HCS Yearbook is dedicated to one of the most popular members of the teaching staff. Edmond Mack the retiring Athletic Director. Born in Cumbala. Pa.. Ed received most of his college credits from Kan- sas State University. He first began teaching at HCS in 1959. and since that time has coached football, basket- ball golf and bowling, in addition to his responsibilities as the school’s Athletic Director. Upon his retirement in June Ed intends to spend more time with h.s family (especially h.s young grandson), fish ( There’s this place in Canada where they ALWAYS bite ), and work on h.s golf game. (There are faculty members who will testify that Ed shows no mercy to his golf opponents as it is!) The faculty will miss Ed’s hearty laugh and good sense of humor: we wish him the best of luck and good health in his retirement.

They start with the birth of spring, advance with the joy of life in summer, mature in fall, and provide for a time of reflection in winter. As the seasons start and end. so do our school lives start and end. We begin the birth of education and learning in kindergarten. We relax with our friends in the summer- time. We also start to mature with wisdom and knowledge about life somewhere between our junior and senior years. Seniors and winter interact with each other as they reflect on the past and look to the future for a part of their lives that’s not yet visible.
