MR. JOHN W. PODBELSKI District Principal Dear Seniors of 1971: It was my privilege during this, your senior year, to visit the American Community Schools in Italy as part of our participation in the School-to-School program. Our school is paired with St. Michael's Country Day School in Florence, Italy - a nonsectarian, nondenom- inational, private school that provides an out- standing educational program. I was quite im- pressed by this school and would like to share with you as my message in 1971 the traditional song of St. Michael’s that could be applied as well to our school and any school anywhere: Holy Michael, warrior bright. Show us how to fight God’s fight; Thou, who prince of angels art, Plant Thy courage in our heart. Clothe us with thine armour strong; Help us when the road is long; Be with us through every day; In our work and in our play. Ask our Lord to grant His grace To His family in this place; May His Heavenly wisdom reach All who learn and all who teach. Please protect us with thy might; Help us learn to do what's right; Help us fill our school with love; Help us praise our Lord above. Holy Michael, warrior bright, Show us now to fight God’s fight May we eacn one wortuy De Of this school that's named for thee! My very best wishes to each of you for a life of health, wealth, and happiness in the future Sincerely, John W. Podbelski Supervising Principal
