Classes Through the many years of our quest for knowledge we struggled to uphold our marks. Through elementary grades we learned - the basic fundamentals - played - and mingled socially to build a foundation for our future years of high school. As we entered high school we encountered many new problems - but along with these problems we were also involved in class activities. During our junior high and senior high school years our activities ranged from - selling pencils - having dances - suppers - prom activities - magazine sales - senior trip - and finally our goal - TO GRADUATE! Dear Seniors of 1970, CONGRATULATIONS to you as the first graduating class of the decade of the 1970's, predicted to be a new era for the world we live in. Probably the most memorable event that took place this past year occurred last summer at 10:56:20 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time) on July 20, when A new age began when man stepped onto the moon for the first time!” The moon is no longer a disembodied orb, a subject of myth, or an abstraction in the sky ... it has been touched and is now a real place! Apollo 11 was more than an epic voyage culminating in a dramatic landing on the moon. It was also a new act of self-discovery and a further extension of man’s efforts to learn more about himself and his universe. The gift of knowledge may be the greatest boon of the Apollo 11 mission! What a start for the 1970’s! As you graduate from high school, you will have the opportunity to further this “gift of knowledge!” Graduation from high school is the first step along the road in life that awaits you. May this success be the first of many in a life of health, wealth and happiness for you! Sincerely, John W.
