A very kind person with a pleasant personality, she devoted her entire life to helping others, through teach- ing. A fatalheart attack struck as she sat at her desk be- fore school, preparing to spend another day with the young- sters she loved. Many members of the class of '55 began their school yearsinher classroom. Fond memories of first grade with Miss Realy will live on in our minds and hearts. It was in her room that we learned such basic prin- ciples as cooperation, respectfor others, courtesy, and de- pendability. These ideals which we virtually inherited from Miss Realy will remain with us throughout our lives. gn mm orzdm HARVEY D. ENGLISH 1899 - 1955 Harvey D. English, a member of the Board of Education for nine years and president since 1952. has been a true friend of the Hancock Central School. He has worked for the prin- ciples and aims of education through many concrete projects. He was generous of his time, efforts and money, and made it possible for the students ofthe Hancock Central School to gain many additional advantages through his kindness and gen- erosity. To be honest, to be kind: To eam a little and to spend a little less: To make upon the whole a family happier for his presence: To renounce when that shall be necessary and not to be embittered: To keep a few friends, but those without capitulation - Above all, on the same grim conditions, to keep friends with himself - Here is a task for all that a man has of fortitude and delicacy. --Robert L. Stevenson William 0'Neil1, J. Edward Smith, District Superintendent: Harvey D. English, Presi- dent, Helyne S. Hillman, Gerard J. Gilleran, Ralph W. Tyler, Edward S. Onody, Prin- cipal.
