The Sfnior, Coass op nine f t tN fifi ( -one dwcocK Central School 1 Our Principal's Message Congratulations, Seniors of 1951. As I wish you God-speed and hope for your success and happiness in the years to corae, I take time to glance back- ward at your record through the grades and high school. We hope that these years spent at H. C. S. have been worthwhile and that your experiences and. activities here will prove to be invaluable to you in the future. In the uncertainty and confusion of the present time and in the dark days that seem to lie ahead, America needs intelligent, educated, trained citizens. A loyal citizenry who know their duties, resposibilitles, and privileges and who live up to them faithfully are America's best hope for a free and democratic future. As you grow to be this future citizenry, I know that you can be trusted to help build a better tomorrow and I congratulate you upon the splendid opportunity that lies before you ,cP 2 Dedication We, the Class of 1951Ā wish to dedicate our year- book to Mrs. Mack. For four years she has helped guide us along the road to success. Her unfailing courage and wisdom has in many ways helped us to reach our goal. May her kind- ness continue to be an inspiration to all those who fol- low in our footsteps. 3 Yearbook Staff Editor-In-Chief-------------------Roger Long Assistant Editor---------------------------Alice Hormerte Business Manager------------------Ann Breden Advertising Manager---------------Grant Teeple Typing Manager--------------------Barbara Quick Art Designer----------------------Darwin Whipple Assistants------------------------Robert Forrester Joanne Brink Helen Hellmers Lorraine Hughs Robert Winne Sally Hunter Herbert Wahl Beatrice Reichraan Evelyn Cappiello Ruth Gehrig Eleanor Dennis Vivian Lee Paul Sherman Anthony Connolly Faculty Advisor-------------------Mrs. Mack Board Of Education MEMBERS OF BOARD OF EDUCATION J. Now is the time for us, the class of 1951, to look back—back to the best years of our lives—our high school years. Soon we will be leaving a phase of our life to which we can never return, except in memory. Let us now, while we are still here, look back and remember. We will never forget the year we entered high school as Freshmen. At our first meeting as a class, we elected Roger Long as our President and Mr. Ham- ilton as our advisor. Although our finances were very low, we did manage to have a Christmas party that year. In our Sophomore year Beatrice Relchman acted as President and Miss Da Brescia as Class advisor. It was during this year that our bank deposits be- gan to mount because of the money we made at a min- strel show and by selling cocoa and programs at foot- ball games. Again, in our Sophomore year, we en- joyed a Christmas party. How proud we were on the September day we re- turned to high school as Juniorsi Why that was the next step to being a Seniori We re-elected Beatrice Relchman as President that year and chose Mrs. Cham- berlain for advisor. The most thrilling thing that happened to us in our Junior year was the selecting and obtaining of our Senior rings. We sold gum dur- ing our Junior year and sponsored the annual Juuior Prom. In June, with regret at losing the Seniors, and yet with great expectations for the time when we would take their place, we decorated the auditorium, acted as honor guards and received the class key. And then we took the position we hold today, the cherished and honored place of Seniors. The slate of officers we had in our Junior year were re-elected. Beatrice Relchman, President; Sally Hunter, Vice President; Roberta Houshultz, Secretary; and Paul Iversen, Treasurer. Mrs. Mack Aas elected class ad- visor. On November 17, 1950, we presented the never to be forgotten Senior Play, 11 You Can't Take it With You. We also sold candy this year and published this year book. It is almost time to close the door to high school life and open a new one. But, before we go, we would like to thank all those who made the last four years the best years of our lives. vm-v 'wf 1 V J0l Seniors Beatrice Reichman Beaw Class Vice-President 2 Class President 3 1+ K.E.
