, jf., V Commander Carrier Division NINE Rear Admiral George S. Morrison, a native of Rome, Georgia, is a 1941 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He served in the USS PRUITT CDM-221 prior to his flight training and designation as Naval Aviator in 1944. 'In 1944-46 Admiral Morrison served with Fighter Squadron NINETY-FOUR aboard the USS LEXINGTON and USS VALLEY FORGE, following which he reported to the Office of Naval Research. In 1947 he was an instructor at the Armed Forces Special Weapons Project, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and between 1948 and 1951 he concurrently served with Com- posite Squadrons FIVE and SIX and as Coordinator for Atomic Energy in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. After, a tour as Naval Liason Officer at the Ioint Operations Center, Korea, Admiral Morrison assumed command of Fighter Squadron ONE HUNDRED TWELVE. In 1955 he served as Executive Officer of the Naval Air Special Weapons Facility, Alburquerque, and from 1957 to 1958 was assigned to the USS MIDWAY. While assigned to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations in 1961 Admiral Morrison underwent instruction at the Canadian Defense College, Kingston, Ontario. Admiral Morrison assumed command of the USS GUADALUPE CAO-327 following duty on the staff of Commander Carrier Division FIVE. He was Commanding Officer of the USS BON HOMME RICHARD KCVA-991 from November 1963 to November 1964, and in 1965 was Assistant Chief of Staff for Strategic Naval Plans to the Commander in Chief, U.S. Naval Forces, Europe. In 1967 he became Assistant Commander for Logistics and Fleet Support at the Naval Air Systems Command Headquarters, Washington, D.C. Admiral and Mrs. Morrison, the former Clara Clarke, have three children.
