2 CHIEF OF STAFF CAPTAIN M. U. BEBEE A native of California and a graduate of Oc- cidental College, Captain Eebee began his military career With the California National Guard. In 1936 he entered flight training and graduated in December 1937. During World War II, Captain Bebee was awarded the Navy Cross for ex- trordinary heroism as a pilot and Hight leader in Fighter Squadron Eleven. On 12 January 1962 he assumed the duties of Chief of Staff of Commander Carrier Division Three. A quiet man, Captain Bebee was the man behind the man 'f giving Admiral Blackburn the benefit of his experience and handling many of the special tasks and the administrative details connected With the staff. l OPERATIONS OFFICER CAPTAIN W. H. HOUSE Born and raised in Paris, Texas, Captain House left his native state after high school to finish his education. He attended Willamette University, The University of Arizona, and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1940. He Was designated a naval aviator in 1943 and returned to the War areas to some hard hghting. He was meritoriously awarded the Navy Cross, Silver Star, Distinguished Fly- ing Cross, Bronze Star and the Air Medal. Captain House joined the staff of COMCARDIV 3 in August 1961 When he took over as the Operations Officer. His jovial personality and hard Work made him a valuable member of the CARDIV 3 staff.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER COMMANDER C. B. ROBERTS Commander Roberts began his naval career in 1942 When he Was designated a naval aviator. He served meritoriously during World War H, Winning the Distinguished Flying Cross with Gold Star and the Air Medal With Seven Gold Stars. Aboard the Hancock, he distinguished himself first, as the shipis Navigator, then as Executive Officer relieving Commander J. B. Jones. Administrative ability and leadership are tvvo of his finest assets. He handles the myriad of duties of the Executive Officer with an apparent ease Which belies the hard Work and organization beneath.
