Girls' State Each year two girls are selected to represent their school at Girls' State. This year, Gaye Boatwright, spon- sored by the North Charleston Kiwanis Club, were chosen by the faculty on the qualities of character, leadership, courage, honesty and scholarship. The girls stayed in the Capstone dormitory at USC for one week. Both girls were elected as sena- tors. Debbie was also vice-chair- man of her county party, and Gaye was the circulation manager of the newspaper.
