Teen Board Teen Board representatives chosen for this year are as follows: Ieanette Croft - Con- don's and Vickie Swanson - Sears. As a result of their honor, they are given jobs at the stores and attend meetings once a month. This is truly a memorable experience for both of the girls. 71

M 'Q 'T National Merit This year Debbie Steverson and Dewey Lewis were chosen by scores on the National Merit Qualifying Test to be semi- finalists, competing nationwide for a scholarship to the college of their choice. ufix Marshals Marshals are named on the basis of having high scholastic averages in their class through- out high school. These marshals take part in Class Day, Bac- calaureate Service, and Gradua- tion exercises. Girls' State Each year two girls are selected to represent their school at Girls' State. This year, Gaye Boatwright, spon- sored by the North Charleston Kiwanis Club, were chosen by the faculty on the qualities of character, leadership, courage, honesty and scholarship. The girls stayed in the Capstone dormitory at USC for one week. Both girls were elected as sena- tors. Debbie was also vice-chair- man of her county party, and Gaye was the circulation manager of the newspaper. They agree it was hard work but a once-in-a-life-time experience that will never be forgotten.
