Coach McCaw came to us in 1967 bringing with him an outstand- ing coaching record in baseball. In 1968, he was named head football coach here. In 1969, he coached the baseball team to victory at lower state. He is a great man and a standing ex- ample of dedication to us all. This is our way of saying - thanks. and Wahl, In Memoriam Mrs. Gloria S, Barley 1932 - 1971 One of Hanahan's best-loved teachers passed away this past summer but her memory will live for many years to come. The team worked hard and put forth a lot of effort lhroughout the year. The key word for the Hawks success this year would have to he dedication. Although the loss to Stall was very disappointing, we still had an outstanding season, winning ten and losing only one of our games. All the trophies and honors were garnered hy the seniors who put forth a highly commendable effort. f' I X r4M' '15 - ll s. In working on their main money project, a Spring Carnival lMid-Marchl and a dance following, the officers and sponsors devised a council of responsible sophomores to help them. The council consisted of: Christi Dixon, Kim Deese, Debbie Fewox, Millie Foiles, Hilbert Hensley, Lynn Mitchum, Theresa Oden, and Iohnny Thomerson. All the money raised this year will go toward their Iunior-Senior Prom and other class expenses next year. They wish to extend their deepest and most gracious thanks to their sponsors: Mrs. Sherrie Iohnson, Mrs. Barbara Potter, and Mrs. Sara- dean Hallman. They had a decline in spirit but as always they tried hard and really cheered the Hawks all the way. For our junior-Senior each classmate will give two dollars instead of selling goods. Most of the sub-freshmen like Hanahan and think that we have a great school. The first day of school was confusing to most of us underclassmen, but we adjusted quickly. We will continue to work hard so that we may be a credit to our school. 154 lanice Abernathy Debbie Adkins john Alford Valerie Allen Randy Amerson Brenda Anspaugh Mary Baker Marcia Barker Terry Barrineau Dennis Bates Becky Beard Elizabeth Beard Mark Beasley Teddy Beaver Benjy Bishop Donnie Bennettr Sam Bennett Steve Blackwell Tommy Bowers Mike Brinson Mike Britton Ray Britton Gary Brock Steve Brooks Teresa Brooks Mike Buckley Louis Caples Steve Corbin Cindy Calder Hank Campbell Cheryl Canady Brenda Carson Mike Carter Eric Cassell Carl Causey Suzann Cawthren Cindy Cease Ginger Chandler Taska Clarke Tim Cleveland Ioanne Combs loan Conklin Sabrina Coppage Donna Couch Bill Cox Mary Crockett james Cronin Charles Cullop Mike DeFee Yvonne DeFee Adena Denkowicz Thea DePue Regina DeRosa Charles Douan Curtis Dowling Annette Doxey Tenna DuBois Dana Duty Cindy Dye Mark Evers Richard Epps julie Farmer Kim Fletcher Yvonne Fox Ronnie Frasier johnny Freeman Debbie Geary Larry Grines Melvin Grasty Claudia Griehoch Chip Gorody Margaret Grohlewski Mark Gunther Anita Hagen Kenny Hall Richard Harris Mike Harkins Dane Harvey Lisette Henry Douglas Hester Steve Hester Trent Hesseltine jonathan Hickman Mike Hinson Terry Hinson Brank Horne Billy Hopkins Beverly Hughes Robert Hughes Kenith Hyndman Alice jarrell Mike jarrell Glenn johnson Skip johnson Stanley jones Pam Karger Davy Haslen Tum Heally Daphne Hollar Pat Kergans Sharon Kinard Roy King Sharon Kiser Frank Klimowicz Kurt Knudsen Victoria Kahl Glenda Lane Lisa Lambert Carol Lavender Sharon Lebby Ronnie Legette Robert Lehrkamp . , ggi. 6' .Try .. sf- X it ,X c 1- W' if ' 3 fe , , 3 'df like 3 '- X, . This year has truly been an experience and an honor for us. Ones which will never be forgotten. We hope you will enjoy reliving the past year through this book for many years to come. A special thanks goes to the TALON staff for their time and effort. It was great how they came through for us. To our advisor, Miss Teal, we owe a great deal. We don't know how we could have survived the year without her help and knowledge of the crazy things that go into making a yearbook. It's really good to have someone like Miss Teal to run to for help. We would like to say thanks to Mr. Gross for his understanding in the picture taking, announce- ments during classes, and delayed pictures. And above all, we would like to take this time to say thanks to each and everyone of you. Without the students of Hanahan High, we could have never begun to work on the 1972 TALON. diettvq- Co-editors . Student Life Sports . . . Honors . Faculty . Clubs . Classes .. Ads ....
