In lay language, the Operations Department is made up ot the Signalmen and Radiomen who maintain communications, and the Ouartermasters who assist in navigating the ship. Secondary functions ot the department are to operate a United States Post Ottice and an Information and Education Office. Moreover, on a Destroyer Tender, and Attack Teacher, that is, a school tor CIC and Sonar teams, is operated tor the Destroyers alongside. lt might be said that the Operations Depart- ment is seen and heard, but not noticed. xi!
