I 0 Smal Nfjam Dn OUI' jOL1I'I'lCy WC stopped lliany ITITICS for fCfI'CSl'llI1CI1fS and light-hearted fun. Our first venture came in the beginning of our Junior year when we sponsored The Wornan Is Requested to Pay Dance. Each girl had her favorite Clark Gable and escorted him to the dance. The gym was gaily decorated, and every- one had an enjoyable evening. As a reward for reaching our quota in sell- ing magazine subscriptions, we had a turkey din- ner for all the seniors. The subscriptions com- pany provided the turkey, and 11-2,5 having sold less subscriptions, furnished the trimmings, pre- pared, and served the dinner to the other home- room. Everyone will remember this as one of the most enjoyable get-togethers of the two sections. The Spring Fling came next on our list of memories. Although it was done rather hastily, many people came and our second dance was also a success. Our longest and most far-reaching social event was the junior-Senior Prom, a big event for everyone who attended. We held it at the Alcoma Football Dance Country Club. Lee Kelton provided the music for this enchanting night of our Junior year. The first social occasion as seniors was the Football Dance with Mary Haggerty as the lovely queen. She was crowned by our outstanding star center, Marv Hardt. Our most beautiful dance was the semi-formal Snowball. The Hi-Hatters provided the dance music. The decorations were very effective and lent a festive atmosphere to this Christmas season affair. The King and Queen of Hearts Dance was strictly a red and white affair. Music for danc- ing was provided by name bands on wax. Another big success for the seniors was the Sadie Hawkins Dance held in honor of Leap Year, and, of course, the girls escorted the boys. This dance was very informal. The Coronation Ball, our last social affair as seniors in Hampton High, was held in honor of our petite May Queen, Janie Byrne. Ir was a fitting finale to our years at Hainpton which have been hlled to the brim with fun. Captain and Queen King Twirp jfzftfaczaf Aflqilfiiy
