ZZ' Uziffvfazfz SENIOR PLAY One of the nicest and longest detours in all our years at Hampton came near the end It was our Senior Play After hours of careful study we decided that our presentation would be Mother Is a Freshman Mrs Wright selected an allstar cast and started things rolling toward the delightful all too short evenings when the play was performed before the public As the play opened we found Mrs Abigail Abbott a widow trying to find a way to keep her daughter Susan in college While looking through the college catalog Abby discovered 'I SCh0l1rShlp 'lV'lll'lblC to 1ny0nC whose first two names were Abigail Fortitude as hers were The scholarship was so generous that if she accepted it there would be enough money left from the courses she must take to pay for Susan s expenses also When she qrrlved 'lt college she In love with hef professor Dan Mlchaels not knowing that her daughter fancied herself ing up until it exploded at the night of the Fall dance ust before leaving to attend thc formal Dan gave Abby a book of love poems followed by a kiss which was interrupted by the sudden entrance of Susan and the dean of the school While Dan was busy persuading the Dean not to expel Abby for kissing him Susan in formed her mother that Dan gave her a book ,iw H Abigail Professor Michae s and Dean of poems identical to Abbys When Dan came back with the Dean Abby stunned and hurt gave him back the book and slapped him The Dean promptly expelled her and told her t leave the next morning That very night however explanations were made aft r Dan gave an exaggerated story to the dean about the slap Everything finally ended happily Clara Bunny and Sylvia Susan and Bobo Tau nly JI 'tw ll 0 .M i ei ' ' F25 A 1 ' 5 ii - 1 1 1 I l I I . l I I , 1 - - b 1 1 . 1 , .
