A ' Cappella sings for Silver Anniversary The Choral department of Hampton High School, under the diredtion of Sidney Swiggett, was composed of the A’Cappella, Girls Chorus, and Concert Choir. All three groups contributed to the Fall, Christmas, and Spring Concerts. For the Spring Concert, formal attire was worn. The A ' Cappella had a very successful year. Besides their usual concerts, the A Cappella sang the Song of Christmas’ with a band ensemble during an assembly. February brought the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra ' s 25th Anniversary and an invitation to sing with the Hampton Institute Choir, Angelucci Choir and the Peninsula Choral Society. In addition, twenty members were sent to regional chorus at Bethel High School. The A ' Cappella raised money by selling drinks and candy at home basketball games. The combined A’Cappellas of Hampton City Schools sang at the All City Concert and at the Baccalaureate Service at the Coliseum. A ' CAPELLA: ( 1st row, l.-r.)
