We cheered the loudest at the two games we Won-one with Clinton and one with Blair. LAWTON Captain .--- Manager .... .,.,.. , HERBERT SPRAUGE Although Hampton Won only three games last year, Coach Lawton expects to have a favorable season to come. Returning vefteranms are: Bill Hight, Chris Fredericks, Russell Vlie-t, Jack Cregar, Harry Martin, Richard Dickson and Eugene Connolly. Possible candidates for this year's session: Eddie Fleming, Albert Fleming, Charles Janosa, and Morris Adams. The team -this year has strong hopes of winnin-g the championship. PAGE 41

A new stationary screen, a new sound system and a new projecting machine have all been added to the equipment, A great variety of films was sent to the school' by the state, the county and large manufacturing and shipping firms. They were shown very frequently, often as many times as twice a week. SADIE HAWKIN.S' DAY DANCE Last year a new and diferent dance was addeid to the calendar of school activities. To celebrate November 14, Sadie Hawkins' Day, the Senior Class sponsored a dance with the usual procedure reversed: girls dated boys, asked them to dance, made corsages of vegetables, and paid all expenses. A regular Dogp.atch affair, the students came dressed in dungarees and plaid shirts. They danced to the music of the Ridge Runners. The auditorium was decorated with green and yellow crepe paper and humorous placards. . - SENIOR SNO-BALL This year the Senior Class made their Christmas Dance, a semi-formal affair. The auditorium was decorated in red and green, and pine boughs with tin-sel. A large Christmas tree stood in 'the back of the room. Christmas lights and evergreen branches decorated the d-oors and main entrance and snowballs of cotton hung from a wire in front of the orchestra. Bids were made from heavy red construction paper and ribbon in the form of Christmas tree balls and hung from a miniature evergreen tree in the hall. Punch and cookies were served and everyone had a midnight snack at the Rancho in Belvidere af-ter -the dan-ce. Ken Brader Jr.'s orchestra played, SENIOR CARD PARTY The Senior Card Party was :held February 6, 1948, in the auditorium. Refreshments were sold and prizes awarded. We wish to thank all of those 'who cooperated with us in giving this party. PAGE 43
