MIDDLE: Lynn Phillips, Mary Jane Tucker George Normoyle Thomas Clancey Michael Lopez, Joseph Ullmann. BOTTOM: Carolyn McCormick, Diane Olsen Marion Holzman Carel Havens, Gail Pukit, Kathleen Nill, Alice Gembenski, Sylvia Furman Then one bright September moming, Shadows fell amid the brightness. T'was the last short year of high school And they faced it sad and serious. Many were the tasks and burdens, Many were the joys and pleasures, That the year did bring our children Tended by their Chieftain Fecteau, Twenty on their number came to, Then they planned their one card party, Sold ice-cream and paid up their dues, Planned the mecca of all seniors, Planned the sojourn to the Capital. And the last great ball of Seniors, Where they danced the waltz and rhumba, At the place called Hampton Bays High. Then in solemn one-by-one processiong One aftemoon in bright June, From the big Chief and his warriors, They received their approbation. Over now the days of High School But the memory lingers ever As these young folks, wise in book lore, Wise, too, in heart and reasoning. Launch their barks into the sunrise Set sail on Lifes' wide ocean, Happy hunting braves and maidens! Happy hunting, Fifty-wnine! 8. M.-, 4., 5

Then came other braves and maidens From near and far off places Strong and fleet the braves, in contest, Maidenly and fair the maidens. Soon they stood on High School threshold, Freshmen were they, green and bashful, Mr. Joslin, their heap big Cheiftain, Mr. Joslin, class advisor. Thrice twelve moons he led his children, Through the frenzies of a cake sale, Through the trials of Junior Prom night, Through the mysteries of history, Till he handed o'er his children In the year that was called Senior To a brand new Chieftain,--Fecteau In their Junior year they tried schemes That almost drove their chief to madness But they also grew in stature, Maidens cheered the braves to victory, And the braves, spurred on, achieved it, On the fields of baseball and football, On the indoor basketball court Did their braves excel in prowess Many in the band and glee club Made the rafters ring with music And the bowlers four rolled up the score For our teepee Hampton Bays I-Itg Our class in 1948 TOP Jonathan Johnson, Joseph Ullmann Steven Schonfeld Hugh Hardy Alonzo Abbey Kath leen N111 Linda Ullmann Mrs Jackson BOTTOM Sandra Downs, Frank Marotta, Tod Duvall Carel Havens, Thor Anderson, Marion Holzman, Sylvia Furman, Marie Burke Doris Blowes f r 7
