Claaa 'Pnophecq The year is I978. As I arrive at Hampshire High School for our class reunion I met Diane Underwager, first woman principal of the school. As I walk down the hall past the physics lab, I see William Crane, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and sciences at the University of Illinois, in deep conversation with gy Struck, now math teacher at the high school. One glance at my watch tells me that is about time for the downbeat of the Wilkins baton. As I go backstage to interview QQ, I meet Qykyg Bauman, who will give a demonstration on cutting intricate mathematical designs from cloth without sticking out her tongue. Next I enter the agriculture room where I find Jim Carlson, Charles Rowlett, and Richard Tamms. Jim, now the owner of the former Werthwein farm, Charles, a promi- nent hog raiser, and Richard, a sheep financier, are all discussing current farm prices. As I approach the hors D'oeuvres table, I meet Sharon Frakes, who tells me that she is now happily married to the police captain. Next to me in line is Richard Fischer, noted space authority. Beside him are Lianne Goeke and Ronald White both physical education teachers at Hampshire High School. Dinner is then served by the very attractive Loretta Schorn. She tells me that the meal was prepared by Dorothy Henning, head cook. After the meal the program begins. The mistress of ceremonies is Shirley gag, who has just returned with her husband, an engineer on the coast-to-coast toll road. Shirley first introduces Frank , who is to iudge the beauty contest. Next is Milan Duchai, the strong man from Barnum and Bailey Circus. To conclude his performance he carries, in one hand, the piano and drums used by the famed ly Hitzeman and husband. Next is Delores Wilke, top' recording star, who sings one of her hit tunes. Phyllis Pfaffinger, R.N. , who was called out on an emergency, returns just in time to give her speech on the importance of nursing. As I-am about to leave, I find the former-liqy Gehringer, coat check girl, who tells me that she is now happily married to a Marengo farmer. As I leave the building, I look back into the gym .where I see custodian Edward Buzzie Getzelman busy at work. AS I walk on, I talk to Wendell Schiesher, a grain farmer, and Dennis Halbmaier, an Admiral in the U.S.Navy. When I leave, I see Jgtk White, police captain, busily at work checking the school helicopter parking lot. On route through town I see two signs- Lag Vogel's BOWLING ALLEY and ,Iggy SeylIer's HOT-ROD GADGETS. On the way to the plane I meet Egg Pearson, who is now a captain in the U.S. Navy. Upon boarding the plane Chief Stewardess M Schneider informs me that my seatmate is none other than the famous scientist -ll'Bedian who has received her Doctor's degree from Northwestern University. As I lean back and close my eyes, I realize that I am still enioying my pleasant reunion. Compliments Compliments S. S. KRESGE COMPANY STARKS TRIANGLE SERVICE Elgin, Illinois Edward L. Weseman 22
