PROPHECY It is the evening of May 28, 1990. As we look in on the John Blakslee family, we find John slowly paging thru his scrap- Eook. Turning a page he comes across the article telling about the opening night at his night club, nThe Wi Puri'. The article was covered by Duane Schultz in his well-known column, nDew's Newsn. This is the way it appeared in the column as John' reads it: Last night as I attended the opening of nThe Wi Purin, I saw celebraties of many professions seated at the tables around the dance floor. For the opening night John featured the famed orchestra, 'The Snozaliersn, conducted by the famous Bob Schneider. Appearing with the orchestra is the new sensation, Evelyg Workowski, who has just recorded a smash hit, 'Just Plain Peten. Also on the billing is Dar l Conro, who's popularity is gaining world-wide recognition as the new erry Lewis. As I was being shown to my table by the head-waiter, Charles Schultz, I was stopped by a tantalizing voice, whispering 5Cigars, Cigarettes' wihout turning around I recognized the voice as that of Ph llis Carlson. lancing around I noticed the interior decorating which was done by Muriel Thornhill, Vice-President of the Whitter Painting Co. During the evening I interviewed various celebraties, among those were, Charles Herrmann and Ray Weberpal, noted for their extensive research on desert farming. Also the manager of the WBloomer Girlsn, Beverly Blank and with her, the star pitcher, Carol Deihs. Speaking of basebail pitchers, I noticed S uirt 'Dutch' Diedrick, famous Cub pitcher trying to look over a tab e. It a corner table I found Luana Ross, a famous Spanish teacher, who has just returned from Mexico, describing the economic condi- tions to Lucille Henning, President of the Future Homemakers of Illinois. Another important celebrity that I interviewed was Irving Warrington, who is an outstanding bowler and has held many champ- ionship titles for years. Spotting an old friend at a near-by table, I went over to speak to him. He suggested a new drink called, nAl's Pale Ale,' a discovery of Margie Rakowski, financially backed by her husband. When I was served the drink, I found the bar-tender was none other than the renoun, John Kra , known from coast to coast for his concactions of mixed lsoft, of coursel drinks. Suddenly the spot light turned to a table where Dennis Benson, a producer of H.H.A. Movies was seated with his actress wife, the former Pat Acree. Pat is now co-starring with Don nJuann Adams in HOne Mad Nightn. Unexpectedly while I was talking to the producer, I heard a roar which sounded like a jet. It was just another one of Egg Cleveland's used cars from WCleaverhead Motorsn. Just as I was ready to leave I met two lovely ladies, one being Jeanette Getzelman, the manager of the Williams Lamp Shade, and the other, Ruth Schiesher, secretary of the factory. Together they made a new lamp shade which they call the J.U.G. As John finishes the article he wonders if he will be as proud of the turnout for the Nwhi Puri's' '52 anniversary as he was the opening nite.
