Some of Happy's friends on the ship didn't share his enthusiasm, but
they decided to be good sports about it all. There were women and chil-
dren watching from the USS DIXIE IAD-141 as the HAMNER got underway
who didn't share his enthusiasm either. Happy pretended not to notice.
Instead he listened to the CruDesPac band play "China Night," and "I
Wonder Who's Kissing Her Now," and "Somebody Stole My Girl." Real
morale builders, he thought to himself.
