MRS. DAVIS ' PHYSICAL science class completes MR. GILREATH DEMONSTRATES TO his class the reaction of hydrochloric acid to hydrogen, a test. Science Study Included Paramecia to Rockets Science students studied everything from paramecia to rocket engines--the principles of petroleum refining to the chemistry of steel. In biology, chemistry, and physics, all required courses, those on the Technical course researched the basic principles of science. Using the facilities in three laboratories, they learned scientific method by applying it. Vocational students took general science and physical science, with subject matter suited to their needs, and received a necessary background in practical science. AN EXPERIMENT IN distillation is carried on by Oscar Ortegon and John Thon, students of Mr. Parson’s chemistry class. Mi r ► 4 MR. WELTY EXPLAINS the circulation ofairto his eighth period physics class. BILL TROWE AND LARRY Wiening work on a project in their physics class. Tech ' s curriculum during 1962-63 contained such subjects as Health and Safety, Homemaking, Home Management, Family Living, and Home Nursing. These classes helped Tech students obtain knowledge needed for proper care of health and home. M ISS THOMAS POINTS out correct weaving techniques to Carolyn Anderson and Sandra Atkinson, students of Homemaking class. LEARNING HOW TO use a roller bandage in Miss Kapantais ' s Home Nursing class are Wanda Glover and Mary Crook. CLAUDETTE BALIO and Beverly Bol discuss house plans in Miss Daggert ' s Home Management class.
