Dear Students, The Hammond High School science classes will be excused on Monday, May 1, 1979, to go by space ship on a field trip to the moonl Does this sound fantastic? It may, but leading scientists in the United States are pre- dicting that such things will occur within twenty years. They also predict that many of those presently employed will be replaced through automation and that most of the future employees will be highly skilled in technical areas. Hammond High School students in recent years have shown evidence of accepting this challenge of a rapidly changing world with foresight and preparation. Each year there has been an increase in the percentage of our students taking mathematics, science, and Eng- lishg furthermore, these students are staying in school longer and more are attending college. It is therefore a privilege to be given the opportunity of cordially congratulating you students for your successful accomplishments in our school. Your display of vim and zeal in your activities, together with the splendid things I hear about your plans for the future, entitle you to the heartiest of congratulations. Best wishes, fffvcfuflvjafw Harry Snyder, Principal Hammond High School MRS. EDITH HENO, Secretary
