The drama department started off the year with a familiar play, Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park.” The play centered around the life of a newlywed couple, Corie and Paul Bratter, trying to make a go of life in New York City. This fall, the theater department also saw the instatement of the Hammond High branch of the National Thespian Club, an organization in which participants can earn various letters and awards depending on the amount of involvement. Spring production ' ll saw a change of pace for the Hammond High School Thespians. Instead of the traditional full-length show that students usually participate in, an Eve- ning of One Acts” was given Friday night, March 25. Four shows — The Cop on the Corner,” So Wonderful in White,” The Little Heir,” and While Shakespeare Slept” drew a large number of potential actors and actresses to tryouts.
