Perhaps more important than the knowl- edge gained is the training received in logical, clear thinking. A new four-year unified mathe- matics course was introduced this year, the purpose being to correlate the fields and con- cepts of algebra and geometry. Ten mathe- matics courses are offered by the department. Mr. Don Clark derives the formula for the volume of a prism for a student. Mathematics

Language Latin, Spanish, French, and German are the four languages offered at Hammond High. In addition to helping the student to become more proficient in English, a language introduces the people and customs of the land from which it came.
