We from Miss Olga Sthublsegels art classes hope you enjoyed Christmas in the Halls this year. Breaking away from the traditional colors. we chose soft pastels, white, gold and silver. .1 world of magical colors. The entire project in- cluded the Christmas tree, the arch over the door of auditorium foyer, the display case, the win- dows of the main stairway landing. the mobiles hanging from the lights, and the elongated orna- ments from the ceiling. To let a little secret out. we used scrap material. such as egg cartons and coat hangers. to make the colorful mobiles and tree ornaments. We had fun decorating the halls and hope that you enjoyed them. This sculptured white angel watched over us from the window of the main stairway landing.

PLANNING THE FUTURE Together with Morton High School we held our seventh annual College Night in November here at Hammond High. Representatives from over seventy different universities. colleges. nurs- ing schools, business colleges, and art schools were present from all over the nation. We who plan to go to college. had the opportunity to find out advantages. admission requirements social life, and activities. Many of our parents came along to help us judge which school best fitted our needs. XVe left that night with a better idea on how to plan for our future. Helen Kindle, Mrs. William Gre- gas. and Sharon Buuerlein listened cttentively as the Rev. Marion Fosh, pastor of c Wheaton church. told them about Bob Jones Uni- versity in South Carolina.
