Text from Pages 1 - 90 of the 1986 volume:

As we the seniors leave H.C.S. to take a more responsible position in the world, we take this time to look behind us and recognize one special person who helped us get where we are now. Her reassuring ways, advice, and that little push we needed to work harder are just a few of her special traits. She treated us as individuals and we consider her a dear friend. As we leave with fond memories of her, we want to publicly express our love and appreciation for all she has done. It is for these reasons — her devotion and diligence — that the 1986 Seniors wish to dedicate their yearbook to Mrs. Katherine Hannan. 2 One step at a time, we’ll face a new tomorrow. One step at a time, we’ll find our way. One step at a time, we’ll climb the highest mountain We’ll chase away the dark and welcome the day. One step at a time, we’ll make our own advances We’ll chart the course we’ll take, and know that it’s ours. Just as long as we grow one step at a time, We’ll follow our heart. . . One step at a time. 4 Gary Bass Never lake life loo seriously but live it wisely. Unknown Leslie Bogart The world is like a mirror that reflects back whal we are. Yet, as we leave here, left behind us are not only the memories and spirit of this class as depicted in this book, but also the hope T9? ai; new future for Hammond Central; a future of expansion and betterment. A future that holds a hope for a small school that at one time was believed to have no hope, and no future. We the Class of 1986 proudly leave these memories of ourselves and our school so that someone can look back someday and say, “Look what the future gave us.”, and be proud.
