Text from Pages 1 - 92 of the 1982 volume:

The Senior Class of Hammond Central proudly presents our ‘Impossible Dream 1982 Spotlight Foreword To dream the impossible dream — the words to this song were in our minds throughout the planning of the yearbook with the hope that the faculty and students of Hammond can dream their dreams and at least try to fulfill them. As you look through the pages of the , Spotlight, the staff hopes that you will enjoy the book and the memories included in it. This year, the class of 1982 proudly dedicates the Spotlight to our families. Throughout our lives, they have given us support, knowledge, and acceptance. They have dealt with the good times and the bad times with love and understanding. With their help, we are now ready to venture into a new life and eager to fulfill our dreams. By dedicating this yearbook to our families, we hope to express our thanks and gratitude for the love and support they have given us. i i SENIORS 3 5' To fight the unbeatable foe ROBIN ALBERRY poem begins in delight and ends wisdom. It was the senior’s last year in the building as students and my first year as principal. I hope they had an enjoyable and memorable year, and that many good things will happen for them in the future. Our Principal Robert L. Scofield 18 I I i I To the class of 1982: As young men and women embarking on a challenging of dubious journey into the future, I would wish for you contentment in knowing what you are about to do will be new and exciting, just as what you have already done was satisfying and rewarding. Through loyal dedication, love, and understanding, Mrs. Hannan guided us in our preparation of this yearbook. We spent many long hard hours creating this yearbook with the staff working together and listening to suggestions. As each page was finished, we felt a feeling of satisfaction and gratitude which made us proud to be working with Mrs. Hannan. Halfway through the year, Mrs. Hannan became ill, and we wondered if we could finish the yearbook without her. We finally continued our work on the yearbook and put to use all the skills and knowledge Mrs. Hannan had given us. So as we finish this yearbook, we would like to say, “Thanks to you, Mrs. Hannan, this yearbook was completed and is something we can be proud of.” C.T. and L.A. and Staff i 64 ATHLETICS Varsity Basketball KNEELING: J.
