It was given by Fran Holleran in the honor of “The Late Great Kate Hannan. The first to arrive was Neil Nicol, president of the Nicol Dill Pickle Factory. He is now boasting of his new Baby Koshers. For entertainment “Fran The Man hired the J. Geils Band who has recently acquired a new member. I almost fainted when I saw that it was Anita Phillips. She is re-recording her anthem “Love Stinks.” Anita wants me to be her personal and legal bodyguard now that I have been appointed Cop of the Year, for arresting Paul Milsap 18 years in a row for illegal duck hunting! We can’t hold a grudge against Paul though, he did supply the main course for the dinner. . . duck! At about 7:00 p.m. we heard trumpets blowing and people shouting “Hubba Hubba here comes Bubba and in walked Randy Gilmer with a keg of his best brew strapped to his back. He is now the owner of the Molson Brewing Company. He also has his own hockey team called Bubba’s Bruins! I also talked to Kent Truax and Paul Dunham. Kent is now the head executive for I.B.M. in Colorado. He is living in a commune with a bunch of groupies. Paul Dunham just returned from Australia (living with the kangaroos and pygmies). He is leaving for Europe next week to pick up a sports car and a woman. I saw Congressman Youngs talking to Dr. Closs and Luella Marcellus at the pool. Congressman Youngs has two bills on the house floor already. One is to outlaw disco and rock and roll and the other is to make Hank Williams' birthday a national holiday. Dr. Closs has taken up partnership with Dr. Frank N. Stein and is currently trying to make lead out of gold. Luella Marcellus, who is now a computer technician, was talking in numbers. Dr. Closs was bored to death, so he pushed her into the pool! Luckily, Nurse Sharon Davis was there, or Luella would have drowned. You can see Sharon every Sunday night on Trapper John M.D. as Dr. Gonzo Gates’ head nurse. 14 I also saw Bertha Arquitt there. She almost didn’t make it.
