Clerk Phillip 8rooks Robert Hollister Merjorie McCullough Hugh Pitcher HAMMOND CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT HAMMOND, NEW YORK 13646 Dear Sandy Matthews; Last night was a great night for a party. It was given by Fran Holleran in the honor of “The Late Great Kate Hannan. The first to arrive was Neil Nicol, president of the Nicol Dill Pickle Factory. He is now boasting of his new Baby Koshers. For entertainment “Fran The Man hired the J. Geils Band who has recently acquired a new member. I almost fainted when I saw that it was Anita Phillips. She is re-recording her anthem “Love Stinks.” Anita wants me to be her personal and legal bodyguard now that I have been appointed Cop of the Year, for arresting Paul Milsap 18 years in a row for illegal duck hunting! We can’t hold a grudge against Paul though, he did supply the main course for the dinner. . . duck! At about 7:00 p.m. we heard trumpets blowing and people shouting “Hubba Hubba here comes Bubba and in walked Randy Gilmer with a keg of his best brew strapped to his back. He is now the owner of the Molson Brewing Company. He also has his own hockey team called Bubba’s Bruins! I also talked to Kent Truax and Paul Dunham. Kent is now the head executive for I.B.M. in Colorado. He is living in a commune with a bunch of groupies. Paul Dunham just returned from Australia (living with the kangaroos and pygmies). He is leaving for Europe next week to pick up a sports car and a woman. I saw Congressman Youngs talking to Dr. Closs and Luella Marcellus at the pool. Congressman Youngs has two bills on the house floor already. One is to outlaw disco and rock and roll and the other is to make Hank Williams' birthday a national holiday. Dr. Closs has taken up partnership with Dr. Frank N. Stein and is currently trying to make lead out of gold. Luella Marcellus, who is now a computer technician, was talking in numbers. Dr. Closs was bored to death, so he pushed her into the pool! Luckily, Nurse Sharon Davis was there, or Luella would have drowned. You can see Sharon every Sunday night on Trapper John M.D. as Dr. Gonzo Gates’ head nurse. 14 I also saw Bertha Arquitt there. She almost didn’t make it. She had a meeting with her boss, the President of the United States. As his personal secretary, she had to stay to take some “Tricky Dick-tation.” She is also learning how to make 18 minute gaps in conversation tapes. Steve Decker drove to the party in his new jet-powered Lincoln. I never thought he’d give up his Datsun (200 SX). He’s now the head foreman of General Motors shop division. I had to arrest Sara Shutler last night too. I was so shocked to find her stuffing Qualudes into Fran’s aspirin bottles! Theresa Martin looked so lovely. She now has taken over the “Golden Comb” from Derick Thurston and is doing great. Mike McCullouch didn’t make it to the party. One of his cows broke her leg and Mike had to put a cast on it. He’s working on a theory to cross pigs with chickens so we can have his ham and eggs all at once. Janese flew all the way from Paris to come to the party. Have you seen her in any magazines lately? Twiggy’s quite upset with her for taking over her job as head model in France. After being the Reverend in the Senior Play, Steve Smith has gone into religion and has become Pope “Smitty The First.” Neither Don Forjone nor Billy Bowman made it to the party. They are still trying to prove that there are still fish in Black Lake. Well Sandy, we are so sorry that you are in jail for Contempt of Court. You shouldn’t have hit the judge. You missed a great party. Sincerely, Diane Pitcher P.S. I found this stationery in one of Dad’s old desks. I’m glad he never throws anything away — even after 20 years! 15 16 17 Assistant Principal “I hope this year’s Seniors achieve all that they are capable and receive much happiness in their lives.” Chief School Administrator ‘‘Each day spend some time to see and hear the beauty all around you.” Board of Education SEATED: M. We, the Class of 1981, are very proud to dedicate the 1981 Spotlight to one of the most highly respected teachers at H.C.S. For over 25 years she has taught her students with great dedication. Because she has worked for and with us, because she has given generously of her time, wis- dom, understanding and cheerful- ness — words are a poor substitute with which to express our sincere admiration for this person.
