Foreword. . . As we leave Hammond Central let us look forward to the future, carrying our dreams and desires with us. Let us not leave behin« however, the treasured memories, no matter how great or trivial! that have left their mark on our lives forever. Let each day enhance the past with remembrance and the fu£ with longing, for yesterday is but today’s memory and tomorrow1 today’s dream. Dedication. . . LOYAL, DEDICATED, CHEERFUL . . . these are words which char- acterize the person we have chosen to dedicate the 1978 Spotlight. Her unselfish devotion to H.C.S. have made our cafeteria self-sup- porting and one of the best in St. Lawrence County. She has touched the lives of all who have passed through the cafeteria line during the past 10 years,’especially the students who have worked with her. She is our friend . . .Bessie Editor Tammy Gallagher Jinny Ceresoli Assistant Editor Yearbook Kim Conklin Valerie Emrich Laura Bryant Staff Diane Ayotte Bruce Stewart Dave Lewis Mike Savage David Schermerhorn Rick Thivierge Administration nineteen seventy ___eight In June you are all going to pass through that invisible door of graduated adults. Some of you are going on to advanced studies and others will be out in the job market looking for work. Whatever the case may be, each and everyone of you is capable of attaining a full, happy and meaningful life if you strive for it. The “Golden Ring” of life is there but one must reach out, stretch for it, staying well bal- anced, so you don’t fall, in that search for the good life.” Only you can determine what you will make of your life. Your parents and we here at school have laid what we hope is a good solid base from which you can work. Take pride in yourself, and what you want to accomplish and be assured that we here take great pride in you as individuals, wish you suc- cess and will be here to help if needed. Assistant Principal Seniors, I wish you all the best in whatever you choose to do. Life will hold many surprises for most of you — hopefully they will be pleasant. One of the most difficult tasks that the Seniors have to accomplish each year is the production of the Yearbook. But this year, as in past years, after the problems have been worked out, a publication is produced that reflects the effort and hard work involved. Board of Education First Row: F. Felt, M. It can be frightening because an exchange student enters a new country with a strange language and new cus- toms. But, you quickly adapt to your new surroundings and make new friends and participate in new experiences such as ice skating, snowmobiling, and snow- shoeing, things I may never do again when I return to Colombia. The most rewarding part of being an exchange stu- dent will be the memories and friend- ships I will have acquired during my stay at Hammond Central School.
