Gfass Jfisiory The Shades of '67 first took on light for our class in September 1963, when we began our high school years as eager Freshmen. Guided by our advisor, Mr. Aitcheson, and led by our officers. President - Wiley Youngs, Vice-President - David Roberts, Secre- tary - Elaine Hunneyman, Treasurer - Sheila Rogers, and Student Council Member - Linda Atkins, we commenced our many activities which blazed the path to our Senior Year. During our Sophomore year, we increased our class treasury with the sale of magazines and we attempted a Celebrity Auction. Mr. Chapman was our advisor, and the class officers were President - Patrick Gibson, Vice-President - Dennis Hanson, Secretary - Wiley Youngs, Treasurer - Dave Roberts, and Student Council Members - Elaine Hun- neyman and Steve Storie. Our Junior Year was climaxed by the event that every Junior awaits anxiously--the Junior Prom. The theme we chose was Everyone's Gone to the Moon. A great deal of hard work and long hours went into preparations, but our rewards were priceless. Our class officers were President - Dennis Hanson, Vice-President - Dave Roberts, Sec- retary - Linda Atkins, Treasurer - Carol McAvoy, Student Council members - Steve Storie, Carol McAvoy, and Pat Gibson. Mr. Bariteau and Mr. Chapman joined forces to act as our advisors. The summer of our Junior Year saw the class spread far and wide. We were separated by summer jobs, which took us to the far corners of the state, by family trips which took us to distant continents, and by the Foreign Exchange Student Program, which took Linda Atkins to Nicaragua, Claudette Amyot to Colombia, and Carol McAvoy to Hawaii. In exchange for the experiences our students enjoyed abroad, we were fortu- nate in having three students come to our school from foreign lands. At last our Senior.Year, the last step in high school, arrived. We were full of antici- pation as to what our last year would hold in store. Our class officers are President - Linda Atkins, Vice-President - Wiley Youngs, Secretary - Elaine Hunneyman, Treas- urer - Dennis Hanson, Student Council members - Steve Storie, Claudette Amyot, and Patrick Gibson. Our advisor is Mrs. Campbell. Our biggest project of the year is the Spotlight 67. We have labored over the pages to make everything turn out as we have planned. We have gone through hectic nights at yearbook meetings so our book will be well organized and on time. The climax of our high school years will come one day in June. We will be graduated from Hammond Central School. We have just begun.
