OASS MSTORY In the fall of 1961, the doors of Hammond Central School opened up to twenty-five energetic freshmen. We began our long journey toward graduation with Mr. Kaye as our advisor. Our class Officers were: President — Ned Cole, Vice-President — John Clasgens, Secre- tary — Jackie Petrie, and Treasurer — Bonnie Proven. Our projects consisted of a dance with Bryan Onley and the Monarchs and a very successful amateur show. We started our Sophomore year with twenty-one students. Our class advisors were: Mr. Leonard and Mr. Bariteau. Our class officers were: President — Phil Lavarnway, Vice-President — Grace Anne Shoulette, Secretary — Christy Drake, and Treasurer — Marguerite Hutton. Our treasurer grew with the addition of money from our magazine sales and the dances held throughout the year. Our Junior year consisted of fourteen students. Our class advisor was Mr. Russell and our class officers were: President — Linda Hollis- ter, Vice-President — Ned Cole, Secretary — Jackie Petrie, and Treas- urer — JoAnne Atkins. Even though our members had decreased since our Freshman year, we took on numerous projects. We held dances, sold candy, napkins and sweatshirts, held food sales and car washes but our biggest project was the Junior Prom with the theme Evergreen Eve . Our profits were very small but we had fun decorating. In our Senior year we welcomed the addition of two new mem- bers, Cindy Snyder and Linda Jolly, which increased our number to sixteen. Our class advisor was again Mr. Russell and our class officers were: President — Jo-Anne Atkins, Vice-President — Jackie Petrie, Secretary — Linda Jolly, and Treasurer — Grace Ann Shoulette. Our projects consisted of a car wash, a donkey basketball game, selling stationary and sweatshirts, and the publishing of the 1965 Spotlight. Now as the doors of Hammond Central are closing behind us, we would like to thank all the teachers who have helped and guided us through these years.
