Class Hisfory Three years ago last September the class of '53 began its long and tedious journey through high school with eighteen members. Coach Ashcraft was their advisor during their Freshman year. Big events on the calendar that year were a box social and card party. Mr. walter Garner took over as their advisor during their Soph- omore year. Their fund-raising projects-the sale of Christmas cards, a card party, a hay ride and a Harvest Ball- continued to increase their treasury. During their Junior year, assisted by their advisor, Miss Nelda Young, they conducted the School Lunch Milk Program. That proved to be quite a head-ache but it was a worthy project and helped out with class funds. The Junior Prom put the finishing touches on the H.C.S. social calendar. when they reached the rank of Seniors, they had only fourteen members to their credit, two of whom dropped out during the year. Mrs. Helen Eustis has been advisor this year. Class activities include ed a card party, the sale of stationery and Christmas cards. The sale of refreshments at basketball games kept the members busy and devel- oped many an expert at cooking nhot-dogs'. Their bank account looked brighter after depositing the profit from the school paper and school pictures. The Senior play,nMystery in the Libraryn was the high-light of the year. True to its name it was a thriller to the very end. The last fund-raising activity before the Easter trip to New York was a dance in the school gym. Jess and his St. Lawrence Valley Boys furnished the music and everybody seemed to have a good time. The Seniors would like to take this opportunity to thank the townspeople for the support of their activities and for making the Senior trip a reality. 9
