SCHOOL REGULATIONS No student will be graduated from Hammond High School until he has obtained an Academic Diploma or fulfilled the requirements for obtaining such a diploma. No student will be passed in any subject until he has obtained a standard of 65% in the Regents examin- ation. Pupils are required to be regular and punctual in attendance. No pupil shall leave the school room during school hours, nor the grounds, without permission from his oi- lier teacher. Smoking in the school building or on the school grounds is strictly forbidden. Any pupil who shall in any wise cut or deface school property shall be liable to such punishment as the misdemeanor warrants. Tardiness and absence from school must be excused by parents or guardians, and said pupil may be sus- pended from school until such excuse is presented to the principal. Pupils are requested to be respectful and obedient to those in authority. Rudeness or profanity in speech or discourtesy toward schoolmates or pedestrians is strictly forbidden. TUITION No tuition is charged to non-resident students in either academic or elementary departments. It is recommended that all such enter at the begin- ning of the term. All who enter school for the first time in the first grade must enter at the opening of school in September. CLASSIFICATION OF STUDENTS To be members of the freshman class, students must possess a preliminary certificate. Four, eight and eleven units are respectively required for entrance into the sophomore, junior and senior classes.
