The 10-foot Pied Piper, placed at the south entrance of the city as part of a Bicentennial project, a proposed roadside park, was destroyed july 18. The project of 52 work days was constructed of two-inch pipe, steel rods, wire lath, cement and plaster. Rev. and Mrs. joe Norton headed a score of volunteers in the construction of the mascot. 7
